In an attempt to remain proactive and not reactive the California
Highway
Patrol
(CHP) introduces Start Smart to educate newly licensed and future
licensed
teenage drivers. The Start Smart Program is a cooperative effort between
CHP,
Teenage Drivers and their Parents, DMV and concerned citizens such as
E-Z Way Driving School.
CHP Goals
•
To help young drivers and their Parents/Guardians understand the
responsibilities of operating a motor vehicle
•
To show how a poor choice Behind-The-Wheel can change the lives of
everyone involved
•
To reduce the number of teen related injuries and death due to
collisions
